2009 SUMMER POSITIONS
The Bowdoin International
Music Festival, a six-week residential classical music program,
seeks qualified applicants for several positions. Positions run
mid-June to early August.
All positions available
except as noted below.
Chamber
Music Coordinator Assist festival faculty in forming chamber
music groups and producing weekly coaching and rehearsal schedules.
Oversee the festival's student recital series and community concert
program. Reserve space at Bowdoin College and at concert venues,
research musical issues (instrumentation, movements, etc.), procure
necessary items for rehearsals and performances (music, extra musicians,
instruments), schedule orchestra rehearsals and festival-wide masterclasses,
oversee cartage, maintenance, and use of pianos.[more...]
Music
Office Coordinator Assist the Chamber Music Coordinator and
faculty in forming chamber music groups; provide staff support
to faculty committees; produce weekly coaching and rehearsal schedules;
manage personnel changes and scheduling conflicts for student
groups; manage student recital series.[more...]
Music
Office Assistants/Interns Report to the Music Office Coordinator,
assist in scheduling student lessons, masterclasses, chamber group
coachings and rehearsals, student concerts, and other festival
activities. Arrange for and order music. Assist in communicating
schedules to all festival participants, faculty, and staff. Must
be personable and energetic. Must have valid driver's license
and be able to drive a 10-passenger van. [more...]
Director
Residence Life and Activities Oversees residence assistants,
enforces policies, coordinates activities/trips, and communicates

Head Resident Assistants
Supervise, enforce policies, plan and participate in activities
with students, ages 13-21+. Positions require previous experience
in residential life/supervising students and a valid drivers license.
On call 24 hours a day. Applicants must be 21 years of age. Room
and board provided in addition to compensation. [more...]

Assistant
Stage Manager Assists with faculty and student concerts; records
student concerts; assists with all equipment, sound, and electronics
needs; assists with moving instruments, baffles, chairs, and equipment
around campus and beyond; assists with setting up the festival office
prior to the start of the festival; other duties as assigned. Significant

Manage

Box
Office Manager Coordinates season subscription and individual
ticket sales. Sells tickets over the phone and in person, in box
office and at concerts. Keeps detailed records of seats sold and
money collected for all concerts. Creates seating charts for concerts.
Supervises assistants and student employees. [more...]
Box Office Assistant/Intern
Assists the box office manager, including lunch and concert
coverage. Provides reception, photocopying, and mailroom services.
Assists in communicating schedules to festival participants (patrons,
students, faculty, and staff). Assists stage crew with copying
