Box Office Assistant/Intern

Salary

$9.00/hour, 30+ hours per week, late June to early August. Room provided if needed.

Job Summary

Assist the box office manager, including lunch and concert coverage. Provide reception, photocopying, and mailroom services. Assist in communicating schedules to festival participants (patrons, students, faculty, and staff). Assist stage crew with copying concert recordings. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills

Should have basic typing and computer skills. Prior experience with Microsoft Office helpful. Must have strong people skills. Must be proficient in English. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record helpful.

Experience

Experience in an office setting answering phones and dealing with the public.

Contacts

Reports to the Executive Director. Extensive contact with the public, staff, faculty, and students (ages 12 to 40) from many different cultures, and the public.

Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for much of the workday. Must be able to traverse stairs and move about the campus easily.

Working Conditions

Most of the work will be done in the office between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. Flexibility required during busy periods which may entail working weekends and holidays.

None.
