Box Office Manager

Salary

Negotiable, up to 40 hours per week. Early June - early August.

Job Summary

Coordinate season subscription and individual ticket sales. Sell tickets over the phone and in person, in box office and at concerts. Distribute tickets to students and faculty. Keep detailed and accurate records of seats sold and money collected for all concerts. Create seating charts for all Festival Fridays concerts. Manage and track sales of CD's and other merchandise. Supervise assistants and student employees.

Education/Skills

Some college education preferred. Must have strong people, organizational, and problem solving skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be proficient in English. Must be able to handle many competing tasks simultaneously. Valid US drivers license required. Typing and computer skills Prior experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) preferred. Knowledge of classical music helpful.

Experience

Experience working with the public required. Box office or related background helpful.

Contacts

Reports to the Executive Director. Extensive contact with the public, staff, faculty, and students (ages 12 to 40) from many different cultures, and the public.

Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for most of the workday. Must be able to carry small loads, traverse stairs, and to move about campus quickly and easily.

Working Conditions

Work in a busy office, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays. Must work some nights and occasional weekends and holidays to staff Upbeat! and MusicFest concerts.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervise box office assistant.
