Concert House Manager

Salary

Hourly, negotiable. Position is for six weeks, late June – early August.

Job Summary

Responsible person to oversee concert halls during busy concert season. Applicant must be trustworthy, punctual, flexible, personable, and available to work evenings and weekends, including most of the festival’s scheduled concert dates. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a 10-passenger van. Prior experience in a concert setting a plus.

Education/Skills

Some college education, preferable. Must have strong people, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Previous supervisory experience helpful. Must be proficient in English. Must be able to handle multiple competing tasks simultaneously.

Experience

Experience working in a concert hall, music festival, or in a related setting.

Contacts

Reports to the Executive Director. Extensive contact with the general public, staff, instructors, and participants (ages 12 to 40) from many different cultures.

Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting or standing. Must be able to walk up stairs, be able to move about campus quickly and easily, and carry boxes weighing up to 30 ponds. Must have a valid US driver's license and be able to drive a 10-passenger van.

Working Conditions

Much of the work will take place in studios and concert halls between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Considerable flexibility required, including working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervise Music Office Assistants' work and delegate tasks. Supervise participant assistants.
