[img]The Bowdoin International Music Festival's Friday evening MusicFest series features distinguished guest artists and members of the Bowdoin Festival's renowned faculty, including the Ying Quartet and the Aeolian Chamber Players, in performances held each week during the festival. Recent guest artists have included Emanuel Ax, Julius Baker, Amy Burton, Sa Chen, Dale Clevenger, Roberto Diaz, Rudolf Firkusny, Pamela Frank, Richard Goode, Horacio Gutierrez, Alex Klein, Jaime Laredo, Seymour Lipkin, Kurt Ollmann, Sharon Robinson, Nathaniel Rosen, Lucy Shelton, Abbey Simon, Benita Valente, and Eugenia Zukerman. [img]Upbeat! a midweek faculty concert series presents a mixture of contemporary and traditional works in a casual setting, and often features faculty members performing new repertoire. (Click for schedule and ticketing info).

Since 1965, the festival has presented the week-long Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music, dedicated to presenting works of living composers. The Gamper Festival features performances of works by the festival's composer-in-residence and guest composers as well as premieres from some of the festival's composition students. Monday Sonatas , a new series of faculty performances in Studzinski Recital Hall inaugurated in 2008. This highly successful series will continue in 2009. (Click for schedule and ticketing info).

EuroFest, a long weekend of music in the style of the great European Festivals, presents Festival faculty and students in non-traditional venues throughout the southern Midcoast Maine area in July. (Click for schedule and ticketing info).

[img] Voice of the WhaleArtists of Tomorrow student concerts, held several times each week, provide the festival's participants with opportunities to perform solo and chamber works before an audience of their peers, teachers, coaches, and members of the public.
