Festival Fridays
2010: Schumann & Chopin
Our 2010 Festival Fridays season presented Frédéric Chopin's 24 Preludes, Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto and several of his major chamber works, and renowned works by other classical masters, including the violin concertos of Brahms and Beethoven. We again featured the Ying and Shanghai Quartets, violinist Glenn Dicterow, oboist Liang Wang, and many other distinguished Bowdoin Festival artists. We also host the North American debuts of violinists Ray Chen, the 2009 winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and Suyoen Kim, also a 2009 Queen Elisabeth Competition prizewinner.
