All participants are under the supervision of the Director of Residence Life and Activities and the Resident Assistants. Housing options include:

College Residence Hall Housing (ages 13-17)
• Curfew enforced
• Double and triple occupancy rooms
• A pillow, linens, towel, and a blanket provided
• Full meal plan required

College Residence Hall Housing (ages 18-20)
• Double and triple occupancy rooms
• A pillow, linens, towel, and a blanket provided
• Full meal plan required

College Apartments (age 21+)
• Double and triple occupancy rooms
• A pillow, linens, towel, and a blanket provided
• Meal plan not required but strongly encouraged. Please note that these apartments have stoves and refrigerators but do not have pots, pans, dishes or utensils.

Participants under the age of 13
Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the entire length of their stay. This age group is not eligible for on-campus housing and must arrange independent accommodations.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Cultural, social, and recreational opportunities, both on and off campus, make Bowdoin a particularly attractive summer setting. Each participant’s facility fee allows access to Bowdoin’s practice and performance spaces, libraries, museums, athletic complex, and playing fields. Here are some of the available resources and activities:

  • SportsAthletic facilities include a 16-lane pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, squash courts, a fitness center, and more. The residence life staff also organizes basketball, soccer, wiffle ball, and other outdoor activities.
  • Libraries -The Hawthorne-Longfellow Library and the Beckwith Music Library contain a large collection of scores, records, compact discs, and books.
  • Museums – The Museum of Art and Arctic Museum are open throughout the summer.
  • Other – The residence life staff frequently organize movie nights, ice cream socials, tie-dying, and other fun events.

    • Historic Lighthouse Visits
    • Lobster Dinners
    • Atlantic Islands Trips
    Brunswick Explorer shuttle service to the grocery store, shopping centers, etc.

    *To participate in off-campus trips, please sign up for Festival van spots. These trips require additional funds for admissions, food, etc.
