A native of South Korea, Euyjong Choi is an accomplished soloist, collaborative pianist, and scholar. She first gained international recognition as the youngest prize-winner at the Young Tchaikovsky International Competition at age eight. Since her debut, she has won numerous national competitions in Korea and has been featured at prestigious festivals, including the Leipzig Music Festival, the International Piano Academy at Seoul National University, and the Amalfi Coast Music Festival.

Dr. Choi is a dedicated chamber musician and collaborator, frequently performing with a diverse range of vocalists and instrumentalists. Her recent work includes the January 2024 album release, “Many Hands,” which highlights four-hand piano repertoire by women composers. This project led to performances at the Michigan State University Faculty-Guest Recital series and the Pleyel Concert Series at the Scarab Club in Detroit. Beyond the concert stage, Dr. Choi is an active presenter in the pedagogical community, sharing her research at the MTNA National Conference and the Indiana MTA Conference.

She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University, where she studied under Dr. Derek Polischuk as a Graduate Assistant. She earned her Master’s degree and Performance Diploma in Piano Performance from Indiana University as a full scholarship recipient and Associate Instructor. Dr. Choi completed her Bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University and is completing her Performance Diploma in Collaborative Piano this spring, studying with Professor Anne Epperson.
