Program Overview: The Festival’s summer String Quartet Fellowship is a fully-funded opportunity for emerging pre-formed string quartets, open to college-age students and older. The program offers mentorship from faculty, guest quartets, and in-residence quartets for an intensive exploration of string quartet repertoire. In addition to rehearsal and study, the quartet will have the opportunity to perform in our subscription series, as part of the Young Artist Series, and serve as chamber music ambassadors throughout Midcoast Maine. In-residence mentors: Ying Quartet, Jupiter String Quartet

It was such an inspirational and transformative six weeks for us as a young group, and we are just so grateful for all the amazing coaching, performance, and networking opportunities we experienced. We are in awe of the environment at the Festival — it truly gave us a place to learn and grow while being reminded of all the reasons we fell in love with music in the first place.
—Ivalas Quartet; Pedro Sánchez, Caleb Georges, Reuben Kebede, Anita Dumar
