Born in Seoul, South Korea, Anna Sunmin Park attended Seoul National University in piano performance major under the supervision of Professor HieYon Choi in South Korea. She continued her studies in the United States under the tutelage of Professor Alexander Kobrin for piano performance. Along with Professor Kobrin, she also attributes her second year of her master’s program to Dr. Andrew Harley, the collaborative piano professor at Eastman. Since fall of 2024, Anna officially started her collaborative piano studies at New England Conservatory with Professor Cameron Stowe and Professor Pei-Shan Lee with full scholarships.

As a collaborative pianist, she has diverse experience in both instrumental duo and voice collaboration. Anna has played for lessons and masterclasses with Anne Epperson, Graham Johnson, Elly Ameling, Paul Katz, and Soovin Kim. Anna has engaged in opera work as well; she assisted the prologue of Ariadne auf Naxos by Strauss on the piano in winter of 2023 at Eastman and played for opera scenes concerts at NEC. In her last year at Eastman, she won the Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition at Eastman and received the Ann Clark Fehn memorial Award with cash prizes. Beyond school, Anna has also appeared in several summer programs, including Collaborative Piano Institute, Louisiana, and Schubert Institute, Vienna.

As a solo pianist, Anna has had multiple international music engagements. She took part in Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival (Florida, United States), Amalfi Coast Music Festival (Italy), Klang Music Academy Hamburg (Germany), White Nights International Piano Festival (Russia), and met international pedagogues and appeared many times in student concerts. In Brescia, 2019, Anna was selected to perform Chopin Concerto No. 2 with Bazzini Consort Orchestra. During her Bachelor’s study, Anna won several prizes as a solo pianist at national and international competitions, including: 1st prize at Laszlo Spezzaferri International Music Competition (Italy, 2021); 3rd prize at EPTA international Competition (Belgium, 2021); and 1st prize at Ceramic Palace Hall Music Competition (Seoul, 2021).

In addition, Anna has a great interest in contemporary music. She premiered Sunghyun Lee’s Piano Concerto No. 1 Zauberlehring (2021) and his piano etude Glassy, Glossy, Gliss! (2017, Rev. 2021) in her senior recital at Seoul National University. In Spring 2025, Anna participated in numerous composition projects in collaboration with current composition students at NEC; she featured in Liederabend Premiere Performances and the Tuesday Night New Music Concert in May. Anna often participates in contemporary music ensembles as well, such as “Academy 2021” at Seoul National University and “Musica Nova” at Eastman School of Music.
