Atao Liu

Atao Liu is completing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University, studying with Dr. Frank Morelli of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. As an orchestral player, Ms. Liu has performed all positions in the Juilliard Orchestras, Manhattan School of Music Orchestras, New York Youth Symphony, and the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra. She was a semifinalist in the 2012 Meg Quigley Vivaldi International Bassoon competition. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Master’s degree from The Juilliard School. Her previous teachers were Kim Laskowksi, Carolyn Beck, and Zhu Jun. Atao attend the 2016 Bowdoin International Music Festival as a Fellow.
