Taiwanese violist Jie-Ling (Jennie) Tang has been recognized for her warm tone, expressive depth, and poised musicianship, praised by the Times Argus for her performance at the Manchester Music Festival. She has appeared in major venues across North America and Asia, including Alice Tully Hall, Paul Hall, Jordan Hall, Walter Hall, Taipei National Concert Hall, and National Taichung Theater.
An active chamber musician, Tang has collaborated with acclaimed musicians such as Anthony McGill, Philip Setzer, Edward Arron, Paul Watkins, Brandon Vamos, and George Xiaoyuan Fu, and has also performed in masterclasses for leading violists and chamber musicians, including Ettore Causa, Paul Neubauer, Arnaud Sussmann, and Yura Lee.
Tang’s festival appearances include Toronto Summer Music, Manchester Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Taipei Music Academy and Festival, and Music@Menlo. She was featured on NPR’s From the Top with Walnut Hill String Chamber Orchestra in 2019 and selected to participate in 2025 Kronberg Violin and Viola Masterclasses.
Tang has worked closely with chamber mentors, including Hsin-Yun Huang, David Finckel, Conor Hanick, Joseph Lin, and Shai Wosner. She has earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Hsin-Yun Huang and Misha Amory.
