Jennifer Gersten is a violinist from Queens, New York. She is pursuing a Master’s in performance at Stony Brook University, where she studies with Jennifer Frautschi, Arnaud Sussman, Hagai Shaham, and members of the Emerson String Quartet. She has previously attended Aspen Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. Jennifer majored in English and creative writing at Yale, where she was a student of Wendy Sharp, served as co-concertmaster of the Yale Symphony Orchestra, and was a recipient of the senior Wrexham Prize in Music. In her second life she is a freelance journalist and editor with work in NPR Music, WQXR, and Guernica.
