Jingyang Wu is an experienced collaborative pianist whose work is distinguished by musical sensitivity, clear communication, and a strong sense of ensemble partnership. She is dedicated to fostering expressive, unified performances through attentive listening and thoughtful collaboration with instrumentalists and singers.

Jingyang is currently serving as a Graduate Assistant in the Chamber and Collaborative Music Department at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she is pursuing the Performer Diploma in Collaborative Piano under the guidance of Professor Anne Epperson and Charles Prestinari. She will begin her doctoral studies at the IU Jacobs School of Music in the coming fall.

An active performer in both the United States and China, Jingyang has demonstrated versatility as a collaborative and orchestral pianist, performing with a wide range of instrumentalists and vocalists. Her orchestral experience includes performances during the 2024 season of the Brevard Music Festival and the 2022–2023 and 2025-2026 orchestral season at Indiana University.

Jingyang completed her Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano at the Jacobs School of Music in 2025. Prior to specializing in collaborative piano, she spent one year pursuing a Master’s degree in Solo Piano under Professor Roberto Plano. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she collaborated extensively with performers of traditional Chinese instruments and singers, further broadening her musical perspective and collaborative approach.

In addition to her academic studies, Jingyang has participated in major summer programs. She served as a Collaborative Piano Fellow at the 2025 Bowdoin International Music Festival, and as a Collaborative Pianist at the 2024 Brevard Music Festival.

She has also had the privilege of working in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Carol Rodland, Warren Jones, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Joseph Rackers, Jeffrey Cohen, Kurt Seibert, Bella Hristova, and David Finckel.

Beyond academic and festival settings, Jingyang is deeply engaged with the broader community. During both the academic year and summer breaks, she regularly participates in outreach performances at local retirement centers and community venues, using music as a means of connection, communication, and shared artistic experience.
