New York-based violinist Kate Dreyfuss is a versatile performer of classical and contemporary repertoire. She is a core member of Contemporaneous and one third of the violin-clarinet-percussion trio F-PLUS, which, since its inception in 2016, has established a repertoire of over 20 new works for its unique instrumentation. Ms. Dreyfuss has performed with such artists as Colin Carr and Eugene Drucker, and members of the Bang on a Can All Stars, and is a prizewinner of the Hellam Young Artists Competition. She has appeared at the Bang on a Can Summer Festival, the Bard Music Festival, and the Festival Internacional de Música Académica Contemporánea in Cuenca, Ecuador, and she has served on the faculty of the Music Conservatory of Westchester and the Five Seasons Chamber Music Festival in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Dreyfuss is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at Stony Brook University, where she studies with Jennifer Frautschi, Arnaud Sussmann, and members of the Emerson String Quartet, and works as the Undergraduate Violin Teaching Assistant. She previously earned her Master of Music degree at Stony Brook in 2017, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in French, with honors, from Princeton University in 2014. She is thrilled to be a Fellow at Bowdoin this summer, and is looking forward to traveling to Maine for the very first time.
