Lu Niu is active in the field of collaborative piano and chamber music. She has appeared in several music festivals including Music Academy of West in Santa Barbara, California and Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine. She is the recipient of Cleveland Heights Alumni chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon Rosa Lobe Award and a finalist of the Duo Competition at Music Academy of West in 2023. She performed in the commencement of Cleveland institute of Music in 2023, and played in masterclasses for renowned musicians, such as Augustin Hadelich, Anthony McGill, and Eugene Izotov, Craig Terry, among others. Lu is currently a Graduate Diploma student majoring collaborative piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Anita Pontremoli. She also received her Master’s degrees in piano performance and collaborative piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Kathryn Brown and Anita Pontremoli.
