Japanese-born pianist, Marina Iwao has appeared throughout Japan and the United States. She is the 1st prizewinner of the 2015 Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, and also a winner of The Solo con tutti concerto competition. As an avid collaborative pianist, she has appeared at Carnegie Hall and the Merkin Concert Hall, among others. Her duo performance with cellist Mina Kim was featured in WQXR’s McGraw Hill Young Artist Showcase.
Iwao earned Bachelor of Music from Longy School of Music and Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes School of Music where she studied under Victor Rosenbaum. Iwao is currently a staff pianist at the School for Strings, and the Mannes School of Music in New York.
