Teddi Yoo is a 22-year-old Korean-American collaborative pianist based in Maryland. She has achieved recognition in several piano competitions, leading to performances at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City. She received the selective Distinction in Research and Creative Work award from Rice University for her innovative musical contributions to the Shepherd School of Music. Teddi was also honored with the Certificate of Merit for Excellence in the Arts by the National Society of Arts and Letters, Washington DC chapter, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Additionally, she participated in the Atlantic Music Festival, collaborating with esteemed musicians. She is thrilled to be attending the Bowdoin International Music Festival as a participant of the Collaborative Piano program for the summer of 2024.  

Teddi earned her bachelor’s degrees in Piano Performance under the guidance of Professor Jeanne Kierman Fischer and Psychology at Rice University. During her time at Rice, she was selected by the dean to represent the Shepherd School of Music at a university-wide fundraising event, performing at the newly built Morrison Theatre stage. She was also sought after for various collaborative piano opportunities, including performances for the Concert Reception of the Administration for Chamber Music Houston, Houston Hospice Gala, and Rice University’s annual Spirit of the Season event. Aside from her piano expertise, Teddi is also proficient in playing the violin and has served as concertmistress in the Maryland Classic Orchestra’s Philharmonic Ensemble and Rice University’s Campanile Orchestra.

Currently, Teddi is pursuing her graduate studies in the Collaborative Piano department at the University of Maryland, College Park, under the instruction of Professor Rita Sloan. In addition to her musical endeavors, Teddi is passionate about creating user-friendly digital designs. She serves as the User Experience Designer of the Back to Bach Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring youth through music and arts education.
