Yu-Chen Yang is a 24 year-old Taiwanese violist currently based in Amsterdam, where she is pursuing her M.M. at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Marjolein Dispa and Sven Arne Tepl.
Yu-Chen’s performance highlights include appearances at major international halls, such as Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, and Stadsgehoorzaal Leiden. Her artistry has been further refined through masterclasses with world-renowned violists such as Nobuko Imai, Hsin-Yun Huang, and Hartmut Rohde.
Yu-Chen holds a M.M. from the USC Thornton School of Music, where she studied with Yura Lee, and she earned a B.M. from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying under Dimitri Murrath. She also studied at the Colburn Music Academy with Minor Wetzel. Her playing reflects a deep commitment to both individual expression and the collaborative spirit of music-making.
