Applications Now Accepted

The Bowdoin International Music Festival is one of the world’s premiere music institutes. The students at the Festival are defined by their dedication, creativity, curiosity, and passion for excellence in music. Applications are now accepted for our 2019 summer programs. In no time at all, more than 250 students from around the globe will be selected to participate in our 55th season.

The Festival experience consists of many opportunities including lessons, coachings, studio classes, masterclasses, seminars, solo and chamber performances, concerts, community engagement, and ample practice time. We have assembled a tremendous roster of artist faculty and guest quartets for our upcoming season. Very soon we’ll find ourselves immersed in world-class music, shared and performed by a world-renowned faculty and our incomparable young musicians.

More than 70% of all participants will receive financial assistance from the Festival, and all Fellows will receive full tuition, room, and board. The Fellowship Program is a fully-funded opportunity for the most advanced musicians at the beginning of significant careers in music. The program offers the full resources of the internationally-renowned faculty for an intensive exploration of solo and chamber repertoire.

A summer at the Festival surrounds students with like-minded peers while offering opportunities to realize their passions and prepare for meaningful lives in art. 2019 will be another amazing season at the Festival, and all of the faculty, staff, board, patrons, and volunteers cannot wait to share another summer of outstanding music with you. We hope to see you there!
