Production: Livestream & Recording Manager
Overview
The Livestream & Recording Manager is a member of the Festival’s summer Production Team, which also includes a Stage Manager and four Production Assistants (PAs). The Livestream & Recording Manager is responsible for successfully setting up and executing livestreaming and audio recording for all Festival concerts and masterclasses. This position reports to Director of Admissions and Operations, works closely with all year-round and seasonal staff, and interacts with 350 students, faculty, and guest artists.
Responsibilities
- Manage all concert livestreaming and recording (around 55 events over 6 weeks).
- Manage all livestream equipment, sound, and electronic needs, including maintaining all Festival audio and visual hardware and software.
- Set up livestream and recording equipment: 2-4 PTZ cameras and controller; an ATEM video switcher; two stereo pairs of mics; a digital mixer/recorder; and a Mac mini
- Develop or enhance procedures for livestream operations (livestream operator and camera operator roles), score reading, and shot calling.
- Create or enhance micing and mixing procedure for classes that require additional handheld or lav mics.
- Train PAs to successfully execute all livestream and recording responsibilities and trouble shoot as issues arise.
- Facilitate the editing, uploading, and dissemination of cloud livestream files to performers within one week following the performance (via Vimeo). Must accurately track and manage this process.
- Work with Technical Director of Studzinski Recital Hall to learn all aspects of hall operations (lighting, sound, mics, equipment, etc.)
- Work with Technical/Facilities Managers of Crooker Theater to learn all aspects of hall operations at Brunswick High School (2 orchestra concerts)
- Work with Music Office summer staff to ensure accurate programming details during livestreams (e.g. graphics and lower thirds)
- Co-lead weekly Production Meetings with Stage Manager and attend weekly Operations Meetings.
Qualifications
- Significant livestream and audio recording experience (experience with ATEM devices and live mixing a plus)
- Strong computer skills
- Background in music performance or study (ability to read music a plus)
- Comfort working with diverse body of students, faculty, and staff
- Strong people and problem-solving skills
- Highly collaborative, flexible, and supportive team player
- Positive can-do attitude
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing tasks
- Proficient in English
- A valid US driver’s license and ability to drive a twelve-passenger van (helpful, but not required)
- Ability to lift 40 pounds (helpful, but not required)
Time Expectations
Much of the production work takes place in studios and concert halls between 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Considerable flexibility required, including working nights, weekends, and July 4.

Compensation
- Salary: $800-$1,000/week
- On-campus meal plan in Bowdoin’s award-winning dining hall (3 meals a day)
