Marisa is currently a graduate student at the University of Southern California in the Arts Leadership program. She is also an active freelance musician and teacher at both After School Conservatory and Sweet Music Piano Studio. Marisa received her bachelor’s in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). During her undergraduate studies, Marisa was elected for two consecutive years as the CSUN Piano Club President, where she was able to expand upon the number of lectures, concerts, and programs offered to the student body. Furthermore, she demonstrated musical and academic excellence during her time at CSUN, and was the recipient of the Colburn Classical Music Scholarship, Samuel John Swartz Memorial Scholarship, Joan Thompson Scholarship, and received the award of Outstanding Piano Department Student for 2022. Outside of CSUN, Marisa has also been a student and performer at the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in 2023 and 2024.
Her varied experiences as a performer, educator, and club leader have given Marisa an appreciation of the impactful role the arts plays in fostering creativity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. In her free time, Marisa enjoys reading and hiking, and she is looking forward to being at the Bowdoin Festival this summer.
