Nicholas Smolenski is thrilled by the opportunity to support chamber music and the arts in Maine. He has a PhD in Musicology from Duke University. During his studies, Nicholas worked in development, project management, and assessment research for several humanities organizations (Project Vox, Society of Biblical Literature, Duke Rhodes Information Initiative). He continues his research as an independent scholar, and examines the varying intersections of sound, acoustics, liturgy, and the senses in seventeenth-century English culture.
Nicholas returns to the Festival after two years with the summer office staff (2016–17), and resides in Portland.
