Music at the Mill Lineup 2026–27
The Bowdoin International Music Festival will continue its Music at the Mill Series in 2026–27, bringing chamber music, food, and community together for three evenings at Dutchman’s in the Fort Andross Mill in downtown Brunswick. Fans of Brahms will revel in some of his greatest chamber works performed across the concert series.
The Festival’s resident Ying Quartet opens the series on Monday, October 26 with two cornerstones of the string quartet repertoire: Mozart’s String Quartet in C Major, K. 465, “Dissonance” and Brahms’ String Quartet No. 1 in C Minor. The Grammy Award-winning ensemble features violinists Robin Scott and Janet Ying, violist Phillip Ying, and cellist David Ying.
On Monday, February 1, the Festival welcomes the Balourdet Quartet back to Brunswick. Alumni of the Festival’s String Quartet Fellowship, the Balourdet has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting ensembles of its generation, receiving both an Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Cleveland Quartet Award in 2024. The Quartet will perform Bartók’s String Quartet No. 6 before teaming up with Festival Artistic Directors Phillip Ying and David Ying for Brahms’ String Sextet No. 1 in B-flat Major.
The series concludes on Monday, April 19, when the Ying Quartet is joined by pianist Jeewon Park for Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F Minor. Park, an acclaimed soloist and chamber musician, made her debut with the Korean Symphony Orchestra at age 12 and has since performed at major North American and international venues and festivals.
Music at the Mill pairs chamber music with a relaxed and social concert experience. Each evening begins at 6:00 PM with a beer and wine social hour, followed by the 7:00 PM concert. At 8:15 PM, audiences are invited to join the artists for a post-concert reception with gourmet pizza, beer, and wine. All concerts take place at Dutchman’s at Fort Andross, 14 Maine Street, Brunswick.
Individual tickets are $98, series passes are $282, and discounted student tickets are $49. Tickets include the pre-concert beer and wine social hour, concert, and post-concert pizza reception. Tickets and additional information are available at bowdoinfestival.org/events or by calling 207-373-1400.
