Pianist and educator Berithen (Beri) Chung, a native of Philadelphia, PA, recently finished his undergraduate studies in Music Education at the Eastman School of Music. During his time there, Beri was involved in fostering connections on campus, serving as a Resident Advisor, Orientation Leader, and president of the Eastman Christian Fellowship. He has also been involved in the health and wellness aspects of music – He worked as an intern to teach piano to elderly students with Mild Cognitive Impairment at the Community Music School, where he adapted to the unique cognitive needs of his students to try and stave off dementia.
During his free time, Beri enjoys rock climbing, wire art, and hanging out with his rabbit, Cinnamon. Beri will continue to hone his teaching and performance skills at the University of Oklahoma, where he will be pursuing a master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy in the fall.
