Kayla Farnsworth

Originally from New Mexico, Kayla is a recent graduate of Boston University with a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in K-12 Instrumental Education from Brigham Young University, where she specialized in middle school band teaching. As an active performer and teacher, Kayla believes that an education in the arts is deeply important to a child’s development. As she begins her career, she aims to increase music education access to students of all levels.

When she is not playing oboe, teaching, or making reeds, you can find Kayla reading a book, paddleboarding, playing pickleball, or trying new recipes. This is her first year at Bowdoin Music Festival, and she is looking forward to working with so many incredible musicians!
